Privacy Policy

Summary

Solfa Theory is a set of browser-based music tools. We do not require accounts, do not collect personal information, and do not operate a server that stores user data. The only data stored by this site is your beat maker pattern, which is kept in your own browser's local storage and never transmitted anywhere.

What we store

Beat maker patterns. When you program a drum pattern on the Beat Maker tool, that pattern is saved to your browser's local storage under the key solfa-beat-pattern. This data stays on your device. It is never sent to, read by, or stored on any server operated by Solfa Theory. If you clear your browser data, switch devices, or use a different browser, the pattern will not transfer.

No accounts, no email collection. Solfa Theory does not have a signup system, login system, or email list. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personal information from users of the tools.

No analytics tracking of individual users. We do not currently run user-level analytics that identify individuals. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect that.

Advertising

Solfa Theory displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. These cookies are set by Google, not by Solfa Theory, and we do not have access to the data they contain.

You can control personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings page at adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of personalized advertising from many other providers through aboutads.info.

For more information about how Google uses data when you use partner sites, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Cookies

Solfa Theory itself does not set cookies. Cookies you encounter on this site are set by third parties, primarily Google AdSense. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not break the music tools — it may only affect ad personalization.

Third-party services

The site loads resources from the following third-party services:

  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — for typefaces used on the site.
  • Cloudflare CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — for the Tone.js audio library.
  • Google AdSense — for advertising.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle requests. Solfa Theory has no control over the data they collect.

Your choices

You can clear locally stored data at any time from your browser settings (typically under "Clear browsing data" → "Cookies and other site data"). You can block cookies entirely in your browser, though this may affect ad personalization. You can use a browser-level ad blocker without affecting the music tools.

Children's privacy

Solfa Theory does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The tools are designed to be usable without any account, signup, or data submission of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page will be revised. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
